New rotary in-line or crosshead dies at 1,000 rpm Extrusion tooling technology specialist Guill Tool has introduced a new design for its high-production rotary models, both in-line and crosshead style. Models running to 1,000 rpm, depending on the application, are now available in the Guill line of patented rotating tip and die designs. By rotating the tooling in relation to the material flow, a rotary head increases the wall strength of an extrusion, allowing a thinner wall with less material, and corresponding cost savings. Typical applications for rotary heads include medical and multi-lumen tubing, and various high-end extrusions with interlocking layer or multiple striping requirements. Features offered on the new rotating extrusion dies include counter-rotating tip and die; co-rotating tip and die; rotating die with conventional tip; rotating tip with conventional die; crosshead or in-line; and multi-layer, striping, certain profiles and optional quick-change cartridges that minimise cleaning downtime. By using rotary dies, extruders can eliminate secondary processes and achieve cosmetic enhancement of the end product (with no weld or parting lines), as well as reducing or completely eliminating ovality. Guill Tool offers its new high-speed rotary models as turnkey packages, complete with die cart, tools and all accessories for installation and maintenance. Clad metal wire products for EV batteries and charging stations

Anomet Products has introduced to its range custom clad metal wire, rod and ribbon that can combine up to three materials to achieve specific performance characteristics, for designing electric vehicle batteries and charging stations. The clad metal products can combine up to three layers to provide properties such as high conductivity, corrosion resistance and performance in extreme temperatures. Featuring metallurgical bonds stronger than the weaker material, they can be supplied as wire, ribbon and rod for use in EV battery busbars and connectors. The custom-manufactured clad metal products incorporate two per cent or more cladding thickness; wire and rod are of fered in sizes from 0.1 to 50mm OD, and ribbon 25mm wide. Typical fuel cells include aluminium, copper and silver cores, and inconel, Kovar®, nickel-iron, niobium, Nitinol®, molybde num, stainless steel, tantalum and titanium external layers.
