Scanning with ease

Manchester offers specialist contract measurement services using the latest metrology technology and equipment. The company works with a number of industry leaders in the automotive and aerospace sectors. Highlighting the capabilities of a 3D scanner, the company states that – with the variety of modern equipment available – no project is too large or too small. However, some users may find it difficult to keep an eye on a laptop screen while scanning, or may find themselves in a scenario where it is not possible to have a laptop within line of sight of the scanner. A workaround is available, using some simple equipment and an active Internet connection. Using a universal phone holder with an adhesive mount, the operator can stick the mount onto the scanner, fix the phone in the holder, and connect to the laptop via a remote desktop app such as TeamViewer. This provides a mirror image of the laptop screen on the phone, Metrology Ltd Buss AG has been awarded a contract for the realisation of a 27kta production plant for crosslinkable polyethylene XLPE cable compounds by Repsol, a global company offering a wide range of solutions for different types of cables.
