New weigh scale blender model for mid-range throughput applications

of up to 2,500lb/hr and is suitable for injection, extrusion, blow moulding and central blending applications. The WSB 600 adds another model to Maguire’s line of weigh scale blenders, which already includes more than 150 configurations suited to different processes and application requirements. The WSB-600 blenders can dispense up to 12 different components, from pellets, powders and liquids to poorly flowing ingredients such as regrind, flake, wood flour and talc filler. Each ingredient hopper has a dispensing device designed for material in a specific form. Like the larger units in the WSB family, the new blenders can be fitted with up to six large-component slide gates for dispensing major ingredients, along with any combination of large corner valves (11,000g/sec), 4" vertical valves (2,000g/ sec), 2" vertical valves (400g/sec), auger feeders and liquid colour pumps.

Maguire debuted its new WSB-600 series blender at K 2022 in Düsseldorf, Germany, in October. The new gravimetric blenders for mid-range throughput applications precisely dispense up to 12 materials of widely diverse types, and can be configured to dose up to six major ingredients. Growing demand for the use of post consumer content, surcharges on virgin resin and global legislative policy proposals and adoptions are being enforced around the world. These factors are challenging plastics processors to find economical solutions to incorporate additional materials, more diverse materials and changing material content in their final product.
