High carbon wire rope is available in wire strand sizes ranging from 0.3 to 5mm in diameter, and wire rope sizes from 4 to 63mm. It is supplied bright or galvanised (Class A + B), on drums/spools. ACSR wire strands/rope are supplied as galvanised zinc-aluminium (95%-5%). Low/high carbon wire is available as bright or galvanised wire (Class A + B), and black annealed wire, in a size range of 0.3 to 5mm. Patenting wire (bright or galvanised) ranges from 0.3 to 4mm in diameter, and spring wire (bright or coated) is available from 1.3 to 3.5mm. Sirme will participate at wire 2020 (stand 14 D59) in December.
Sirme manufactures steel wire, and steel wire ropes, in high and low carbon materials. It operates from a 50,000m 2 production facility within a 110,000m 2 site, using specialised machinery produced in Europe. The facility is approved by Lloyd’s Register to ISO 9001:2015, and its products are CE approved. The company now looks to export 60 to 70 per cent of its products. Smallest outdoor fibre optic connector for harsh environments
Cold-Rolling Wire Drawing Wire Stretching
Huber+Suhner, a global supplier of optical connectivity solutions, has launched its smallest ever outdoor fibre optic connector – the Q-ODC-2 Mini – to enable more cost-effective, flexible and higher capacity deployments of new wireless infrastructure in industrial and communication applications. Featuring a compact design, the size- optimised connector reduces dimensions by 50 per cent and weight by 40 per cent when compared to the company’s Q-ODC-2 outdoor connector. These smaller proportions allow wireless infrastructure providers to access new locations and add more capacity to the network, reducing the cost per bit. The Q-ODC-2 Mini also overcomes the challenge of high system sensitivity, and increases reliability. This opens up new areas of application for fibre optics in a number of industries, such as wind energy, railway and shipbuilding. The connector is waterproof, dust-proof and corrosion resistant, and provides safety for outdoor installations. It features
a robust push-pull coupling mechanism and an extension connector for cable chaining, making the solution quick and easy to install. “As our smallest outdoor fibre optic connector to date, the Q-ODC-2 Mini addresses critical challenges in the planning, building and operation of new wireless infrastructure deployments by providing an affordable solution that is simple to install and takes up the minimum amount of physical space,” said Carsten Dieckmann, product manager at Huber+Suhner. Huber+Suhner is a global company with headquarters in Switzerland. It develops and manufactures components and system solutions for electrical and optical connectivity. With cables, connectors and systems – developed from the three core technologies of radio frequency, fibre optics and low frequency – the company serves customers in the communication, transportation and industrial sectors.
