New polymeric lubricant for cold forming Condoroil Chemical has developed a new polymeric lubricant for the cold forming of steels and non-ferrous metals. Condorlube DF 18 is a non-reactive water- based polymer lubricant designed to reduce, to a single step, the preparation of the pickled material in the forming operation. The preparation process on pickled material simply consists of Condorlube DF 18 solution deposition followed by drying with hot air. According to the design of the application equipment, eg by dipping or flow coating, in batch or in line, the concentration and temperature have to be settled. Use of the product eliminates the necessity for rinsing stages and also avoids the use of reactive soaps and/or oil-based lubricants.

Hirose Electric Co Ltd, a manufacturer of connectors, has introduced the DF51K series of robust wire-to-board connectors for applications requiring more strength and durability. They are designed for a wide range of applications, such as industrial machinery, medical devices, smart meters and industrial robots. DF51K connectors feature a centre lock design that allows them to be placed side by side, to save space on the board. The mating operation is user-friendly, and a clear tactile click confirms secure engagement and a reliable connection. The connectors feature a strong contact lance strength, which increases the contact retention in the housing and prevents the contacts from pulling loose if the cables are wrenched. The connectors are also polarised through the use of guide keys to prevent incorrect mating. DF51K offers many variations for design flexibility. Single or double row versions are available in a straight or right-angle housing with the option of gold or tin

plating. The series is part of the SignalBee product family, which consists of compact and high-performance wire-to-board and wire-to-wire connectors that are designed for the requirements of industrial applications. The operating temperature range is -55 to +105°C, and the cable size range is AWG 22 to 30. The system accepts resin sealing, and is UL/C-UL certified and RoHS compliant.
