New static dancer roll and pivot bar series

SJOGREN Industries has announced the launch of two new customised solutions for the wire and cable industry. In the past six months the company has launched both the static dancer roll (SDR) and the pivot bar (PB) series. Founded in 1927 by Oscar Sjogren, the company has long been an innovator in the design and manufacture of wire straighteners, straightener rolls and wire tooling equipment. The company is celebrating its 90 th anniversary as a solutions provider for the industry. The Sjogren belief that “simple ideas make better solutions” has been at the core of its product designs since its inception. It continues to introduce enhancements in wire straightening assemblies and components that deliver major efficiencies and increased productivity for its customers. The static dancer roll (patent pending) replaces the conventional dancer roller or tuner roller on a wire drawing machine. With the conventional roller, the combination of high heat, draw lube contamination and general wear causes wire surface scratching, ball bearing seizure and constant maintenance.

set-up time while eliminating the need for complicated and costly base plates for mounting. The PB series comes with grooved rolls and precision ball bearings and is available with digital readout adjustment capability. Sjogren Industries continues to build its reputation by providing customers with high quality products, designed and built by its engineering team. The company’s machinery, tooling and accessories are sold worldwide with distributors located in Europe, South New series of phase stable test cables Amphenol RF has introduced the ATC-PS series of amplitude and phase stable test cables. These pre-configured SMA assemblies are designed for high performance applications which require minimal insertion and return loss. and measurement applications up to 20GHz and each assembly is tested to ensure electrical and mechanical performance. This new series of cable assemblies is available in standard lengths of 24, 36, 48 and 72 inches, as well as 1 metre. Custom lengths are available upon request. The ultra-low-loss cable assemblies feature a robust strain relief construction to ensure stability of the centre contact relative to the connector body. This rigidity allows for optimal performance and consistent phase stability of ±5°. The connectors are precision machined from stainless steel to provide enhanced durability of over 5,000 mating cycles. Benefits of the SDR include: • Easily installed in any application Long life with multiple-wear surfaces Reduction in maintenance costs • Machine downtime reduced signi- ficantly • Prevents wire surface damage and scratching Backed by a year’s worth of engineering and Sjogren’s 90-year history of innovation within the wire and cable industry, the PB series provides a simple, modular design for wire straighteners. The PB series maximises efficiency with a design that minimises space and • •

Saving lives and guaranteeing service The reason for flame retardancy in cables is to save lives and guarantee service conditions in harmful situations. It is not just a technical parameter, but also a safety requirement. More than 20 years ago, when Mixer started its activities, the question was what is the best way to produce a flame-retardant bedding compound? The answer was magnesium di hydroxide (MDH). MDH is the best raw material for this task because it is halogen free, produces just water in contact with flames and gives the highest temperature resistance in fire conditions. At the same time, it was a challenge for the company to produce a bedding compound with improved extrusion behaviour and the expected flexibility with MDH. The success in this challenge has led to superior cable performances in the portfolio of worldwide cable companies and the same was achieved by Mixer with its products designed to support cable producers in CPR-compliant projects. Ekopren® 3RP931 for tandem equipment and the drummable Ekopren® 3RP371 for two-step extrusion produce CPR-compliant cables and obtain real protection against fire. The materials have been tested according to several standards. Results, comparative videos and cone calorimeter tests are available. Cable simulations obtained combining Ekopren® bedding compounds with thermoplastic jacketing materials from major producers have been tested and analysed, achieving a useful guideline for cable producers to obtain cables according to the desired CPR class.
