Innovative cold welder makes its debut

generally excellent, particularly at the beginning of the week, and we were delighted to see so many customers and friends, old and new, at our anniversary party. “The show gave us an opportunity to launch and demonstrate the new TR45 machine. It’s a first for us and attracted a lot of interest from manufacturers looking for a faster, greener way to weld complex profile. We sold the EP500 rod welder we exhibited on the stand and

Cold welding specialist PWM introduced a new machine designed specifically for trapezoidal profile at wire 2024. The company, which celebrated its 40 th anniversary at the show, presented a comprehensive range of products, including the P1500 rod welder and ST40 strip welder. Steve Mepsted, managing director of PWM, said, ”wire 2024 proved to be a very successful and enjoyable event for us. Visitor quality and traffic was In December 2023, Kocks Measure + Inspect and LAP Measurement Technology announced their co- operation in the joint development and marketing of measurement and surface inspection technology. The two companies unveiled the result of this cooperation at the start of wire 2024 in Düsseldorf, Germany: the 4D Eagle S hybrid measuring system for precise profile measurement and surface inspection. The system uses laser light section technology to capture the complete profile of long products and to precisely detect and classify various rolling defects. Users can access the Smart Core X software application for a detailed analysis of the acquired data. 4D Eagle S can also be integrated into higher level quality assurance systems using OPC-UA.

The two partners pooled their extensive know-how as part of the project. LAP has operated in the field of laser measurement systems for the steel industry for decades, while Kocks contributes its expertise as a specialist in three-roll technology for precise special bar quality production. Commenting at the time of the original announcement, Fabian Beck, director Kocks and LAP unveiled their 4D Eagle S measuring system at wire 2024 At wire 2024 Dow showcased samples made with a range of its solutions for the cable industry. Highlights for power infrastructure included the Endurance™ HFDD-4201 compound for cable systems. This XLPE compound reduces the degassing period, lowering emissions during cable production. It can also be produced from certified bio-feedstocks. For telecommunications infrastructure, Dow promoted its Axeleron™ telecom cable compounds, designed for toughness while maintaining high data transmission rates over long distances.
