VAD preform technology to maintain and even boost limits.
The cable industry plays an important role in both. Reducing electrical waste is a key part of environmental responsibility, but cables are still hard to recycle. Video conferences and remote work are tests for anyone’s Internet connection, and the expansion of fast Internet access is an important infrastructure project.

Setic Pourtier C2S 511 DuringWire Expo, Setic, Pourtier and their service department, C2S, together with Bow Technology, will welcome visitors looking for technologically advanced rotating machines and services. For 30 years, Setic and Pourtier and their US branch, Gauder Group Inc, have been building knowledge, experience and ability to serve the wire and cable industry in the US market. The companies design and manufacture rotating machines for ferrous and non ferrous cable. On booth 511, Setic will promote its special, data communication and LAN cable machinery for automation, AI, robotics and data analytics sectors, as well as automotive wire equipment. Pourtier’s heavy-duty rotating machines produce all types of power cables, including overhead, submarine, and low, medium, high and extra-high voltage. To achieve greater performance and extended machine lifetime, a com- prehensive range of services is available through the C2S customer services department – a partner for spare parts, machines upgrades and consulting. Bow Technology makes high graded carbon bows for all sizes and all brands of double twist equipment. Suppliers can feel the market pressure for more sustainable production and products. So far, it has been almost impossible to offer an ecological alternative to common plastic materials while maintaining the high standards of existing coatings. Rosendahl Nextrom has been working on developing a solution for this problem. RoSET (Rosendahl Superior Extrusion Technology) introduces more sustainable production technology for MV power cables up to 18/30 (36) kV based on PPC. With the same performance and stan- dards, it can reduce CO 2 emissions and lead-time during production. Another environmental issue is the use of lead for submarine power cables. Since 2020, lead has been listed as a substance of very high concern (SVHC) by the EU, and must be substituted by 2027. Rosendahl Nextrom’s latest innovation helps to replace this resource. The new RH-W metal-forming, welding and corrugating line helps producers to make cables more sustainable, without lead. The metal barrier fulfils several electrical functions as well as many protective functions. As bandwidth and data usage constantly increase, the requirements for high performance fibre optic cables rise. More countries are expanding their 5G coverage, while 1 Tb/s 6G is already in development. At the same time, funding for fibre to the home is increasing.
