Janne Hosio becomes MD at Upcast

LLFlex appoints executive chairman

and managing direc tor at Centre Lane Partners.

Larry Posner has been appointed as executive chairman and member of the board of directors of LLFlex, a specialist in packaging materials and industrial laminate solutions for the wire and cable, building and construction, consumer packaging and other printable substrate markets. LLFlex, a portfolio company of private investment firm Centre Lane Partners, has manufacturing operations in Kentucky and North Carolina, USA, with sales and supply chain offices in the USA, UK and China; it markets its products through a network of global agents and partners. Mr Posner joins after four years as a member of Centre Lane Partners’ in-house portfolio operations team. He was an integral member of the LLFlex executive management team over the preceding six months, having previously served as the company’s interim CFO. “We look forward to working with Larry in his new role at LLFlex and believe that he can help the company take advantage of the exciting opportunities that lie ahead and grow the company over the next few years,” said Quinn Morgan, co-founder

He will continue to work with our executive team to ensure deployment of a multitude of strategic business initiatives.” Prior to Centre Lane Partners, Mr Posner was a managing director at Alvarez & Marsal, focusing on interim CEO roles and performance improvement initiatives with private equity owned companies. He joins LLFlex during an expansion period, including scale-up at its new 73,500-square-foot fully integrated manufacturing facility inHigh Point, North Carolina, USA. The plant houses high speed equipment for custom laminating, coating, embossing and slitting, to address growing product demand.

Mr Hosio, who holds an engineering degree from the Central Ostrobothnia University of Applied Sciences, joined Upcast Oy in 2001 as a project engineer, specialising in electrics and programming. Having held various positions in the company for 21 years, he has shown his capability for more responsibilities and has become an expert in Upcast products and technology, as well as the markets and the customer base. Three new members have been appointed to Pelican Wire’s management team at the manufacturing facility in Naples, Florida, USA: plant manager Mike Dunn, quality manager Bob Soares and maintenance manager Doug Wanser. Mr Dunn has more than 30 years’ experience in operational excellence in diverse industries using lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies in single- and multi plant environments. He received his bachelor of science in accounting from the University of Detroit and a master of business administration fromWayne State University (Detroit). Mr Soares has been the quality management system rep- resentative for multiple organisations, including those involved in consumer products, automotive, medical devices and industrial applications. He has more than 30 years’ experience in manufacturing/process engineering, quality engineering and quality management. He holds a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and has also been certified by the American Society for Quality as a quality engineer (CQE), quality auditor (CQA), manager of quality and organisational excellence (CMQ/OE) and Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB). Mr Wanser joins Pelican Wire after being an electrical engineer in the high-speed yacht industry. He was also electronics component tech and assistant maintenance manager for Publix Supermarkets, maintaining electro-mechanical equipment and managing preventive maintenance and root cause analysis
