Exhibitors

›››

The multinational team will be joined by colleagues from Davis-Standard and agents and representatives from around the world. The full range of exhibits will include topography scanning of energy cable surfaces, new dual take-up for telecom wire, a choice of crossheads and extruders for low-voltage and fibre optic cables and a tape folding system.

ID, grade, date, time, production line, test instrument and total defect count for each designated type. MAC will also present information on its new eddy current Rotomac® 25mm rotary tester, which provides on-line inspection for long, continuous surface flaws such as seams and laps in cold heading, spring making and other slow-throughput operations. Flaws are identified prior to forming and cutting, and the defect alarm activation is delayed so that the piece made from the defective wire is rejected after the cutting operation. Operating at 1,000 rpm, the Rotomac 25RM handles wire from 3 to 25mm in diameter. Test probe adjustments are easily accessible, and typical throughput speeds are up to 12m/min. The rotary’s accurate distance compensa tion, when using an absolute test probe, permits inspection of excessively out-of round product. Engineers at the stand will be available to discuss MAC’s complete range of inspection systems for wire, cable and rod. Operating at speeds up to 18,000 rpm, the Rotomac HS 20mm rotary is suitable for wire producers testing product from 2 to 20mm in diameter. Distance compensation – critical for testing ovate wire – is included. For drawn wire, drawing nibs can be adapted for use as bushings for testing marginally straightened wire. Applications include testing A-286 stainless steel wire and similar low-conductivity alloys. Magnetic Analysis Corp www.mac-ndt.com Maillefer Extrusion Oy 10 C22 Maillefer connects the digital and physical production worlds from within the Smart Circle, which will be the centrepiece of stand 10 C22. The exhibit will provide an informative experience in smart buffering, roundness optimisation, defect detection, preventive maintenance, sim factory and NCC curing calculation. A guided tour will take place alongside two complete lines – a new fibre optic secondary coating line and a high-voltage CCV line – both of which fit into just a few square metres. The secondary coating line is being released for the show. Its new components and smart technology are claimed to shorten fibre set-up times by more than 70 per cent, as well as assisting the operator and saving material.

Maillefer’s new topography scanner

Maillefer offersmore than50 technologies for wire, cable, pipe and tube production, and a wide services portfolio that covers nearly 20 applications. Maillefer Extrusion Oy www.maillefer.net Mathiasen Machinery, Inc 12 A55 Mathiasen Machinery, Inc (MMI) will be displaying photos of a wide variety of the second-hand machinery that it buys and sells internationally. The company also offers new machinery on behalf of WiCa GmbH in Austria and Pratto SA in Greece. Second-hand machines are purchased for inventory or brokered. MMI is interested in locating individual machines, complete lines or entire plants. Consignments, warehousing, rebuilding, appraisals and liquidation services are also offered. Customers are asked to bring their surplus machinery lists and photos for evaluation. Mathiasen Machinery, Inc www.mathiasen-machinery.com Medek & Schörner GmbH 10 C52-01 Owing to close cooperation with Austrian company KHU, Medek & Schörner will be making a joint trade show appearance. Matching the optical fibre lines from Medek & Schörner, KHU offers suitable downstream machines. 2M-Tech, the sales organisation for KHU cable making equipment, will be on the same stand, providing comprehensive joint consultation. Machines on display will include an opti- cal fibre colouring/ribbon/micromodule
