Central Wire Industries UK Ltd 11 A22 Central Wire Industries UK Ltd has, for a number of years, offered a choice of pencil profiled wire finished up to 10 x 3mm. The profile is named after the cross section view of the wire, which looks like a sharpened pencil. After receiving enquiries from customers seeking larger sections, the company last year commissioned a new profile line that can produce sections up to 40 x 5mm, with the same quality finish and offering a consistent nose taper. This has helped secure more orders in this specialist area, and work for the machine continues to build.

high process repeatability and stable cable characteristics. In addition to complete lines, Cerrini delivers single extrusion line components – payoffs, take-ups, extruders, haul-off units, accumulators and cooling troughs – tailored to customer requirements. All of the equipment can be integrated into existing extrusion lines. Cerrini also provides a complete re-engi neering service, to increase performance of existing extrusion lines and machines. Cerrini Srl www.cerrini.it Cersa-MCI 10 E59 Established in France in 1981, Cersa-MCI designs and manufactures high-level measuring devices for fine wires, cables and optical fibres. The company offers a portfolio of solutions to help customers enhance production quality. Advanced technologies such as inter- ferometers and diffraction ensure high speed measurements and high accuracy. The sensors are useful both on- and off-line for non-contact measurement applications.

10 C41 Cerrini was founded in 1946 by Paolo Cerrini in Busto Arsizio, near Milan, Italy. Through cooperation with a worldwide clientele, the company has become a major producer of highly engineered, value-added extrusion systems for the cable industry. and assembles all of its cable extrusion machines in its own facilities in Italy. The production portfolio includes lines and equipment for energy cables (high speed building wire insulation lines with X-flow colour-change system, power cable insulation, filling and jacketing lines, THHN/THWN cable extrusion lines, liquid/ dry silane crosslinking power cable lines and SZ stranding lines); catenary lines (rubberCVextrusion lines for low/medium voltage cables, and XLPE CV extrusion lines for low/medium voltage cables); and silicone safety cables (insulation and sheathing silicone extrusion lines with infrared vulcanisation systems); as well as equipment for automotive cables, submarine cables, steel wire ropes, telephone and LAN cables, fibre optics and coaxial cables. A new design of rubber/silicone extruder – model TG.120/15D – has been developed for high speed extrusion lines. Cerrini has manufactured silicone/rubber extruders since 1967, with the current models ranging from 45 to 160mm. ensures compound cooling and a controlled extrusion temperature. The matched anti-wear materials for barrel and screw allow maximum duration, even with highly loaded compounds. The company manufactures The latest generation of water thermoregulation system
Central Wire Industries manufactures profiles with complex geometries
The sections, while used in the filtration industry as support grids for petrochemical screens, are also used in architectural applications such as walkways and flooring grids, and in applications where consistency in geometry and appearance are important. The accuracy on the nose angles allows customers to achieve tighter slot tube tolerances and a higher-quality end product. Packaged on spools or coils, or in cut lengths, the sections can be supplied from 2 x 1mm up to 40 x 5mm (1.575" x 0.197"). Typical pencil section sizes used in the market are 10x3, 11x5, 12x3, 15x3, 25x2, 25x3, 35x3, 38x3 and 50x3. The pencil sections are available in a variety of alloys including stainless steel, nickel and speciality alloys. In addition to the larger pencil-shaped support sections, Central Wire Industries manufactures a range of profiles with complex geometries/specifications to the mechanical properties required by the customer. With its own in-house tooling department it can offer complete design services to help with any specific request. Central Wire Industries UK Ltd https://centralwire.com
Cersa’s SQM for measurement of surface quality
In the mid-1980s, Cersa launched its first device for fine wire measurement. The LDS is still available, in one- or two axis models, for diameter monitoring during the drawing process or for off-line measurements, fitted with accessories. The wire range covered is 5µm to 2mm. For extrusion processes, Cersa provides the LPS-3-H to monitor diameter and detect lumps and neckdowns in a single product for larger wire and cable diameters (0.3 to 5mm). This solution combines a diameter gauge and a flaw detector in one box. For optical fibre measuring, Cersa offers a complete solution to ensure high quality certification during the drawing process. In 2021, Cersa released its new solution for wire/cable/surface defect detection.
