and is responsible for the company’s activities in the Russian Federation and neighbouring countries. NoR’s four service engineers, all Russian native speakers, install Nieho machines at customer sites, put the machinery into operation and provide after sales service. Since 2008, Nieho and NoR have worked closely together with the all-Russian Scienti c Research and Development Cable Institute VNIIKP. Maschinenfabrik Nieho GmbH & Co KG – Germany Website : www.nieho .de Queins and Stolberger, Germany-based companies, have been manufacturing machinery for the last 40 years. Interested customers can see at the stand a number of large pictures of machines delivered to the rope and cable industry. Main products are all types of high-speed stranding machines, pay-o s/take-ups, taping heads, disc- and belt-type caterpillars, and extrusion and sheathing lines. This is in addition to machines for manufacturing CTC strands (continuously transposed conductors), umbilicals and steel wire ropes. Queins Machines, Stolberger KMB Maschinenfabrik Stand: FO D32

The machine’s sensor technology makes it possible to use machine, production and process data according to Industry 4.0. The 16-carrier lever arm rotary braiding machine BMV 16 is designed for processing of bare or plated round or at wire made from copper, aluminium or stainless steel, with single-wire diameters ranging from 0.05 to 0.3mm (40 to 28½ AWG), as well as arti cial yarn and bres. Like all other models in the BMV series, this machine features an in nitely adjustable electronic control of line speed and braiding pitch as well as an automatic central lubrication system. • Embossing metre markers and hot foil sequential metre or footage markers • High-performance ring markers • Video systems for monitoring the printing quality of high-speed printing machines • Laser marking systems for cables • Custom-made cable-marking machines and optical bre solutions • IoT/Industry 4.0-ready interfaces Thanks to the modular construction, the capacity of any system can be increased quickly and signi cantly by adding or exchanging individual components – even if a system has already been in operation for several years. Medek & Schörner – Austria Website : www.medek.at Maschinenfabrik Nieho and Nieho of Russia, its Moscow-based marketing and service o ce, will be exhibiting a D 802 type double twist bunching machine and a BMV 16-type lever arm rotary braiding machine. Additionally, the o erings of the after sales service and the Nieho Original+ components will be showcased, and visitors can learn how they can use Nieho ’s digitisation concept. The D 802 type double twist bunching machine is designed for bunching plated and bare wires or twisting insulated wires. The machine can be used to produce (copper) strands with 0.25 to 16mm² cross section and an in nitely variable lay length of 15 to 160mm. Insulated wire can be stranded up to an OD of 7.5mm. The maximum line speed is up to 5,000 tpm or 300m/min. Like all machines of the D series, the D 802 features the service-proven energy-saving single bow (ECO-Bow) design and is equipped with an energy-class IE3 energy saving rotor drive and an adjustable fan drive in the soundproof cabin. Other features are wireless telemetry for all signals including encoders – the absence of brushes increases the production reliability and simpli es maintenance – and an automatic traverse, which is equipped with a ange detection system allowing spools to be Maschinenfabrik Nieho Stand: FO D58

By means of other monitoring systems, some which are optionally available, BMV braiders can operate unattended for extended periods and without frequent operator intervention. Also for the braiding machines, new functionalities have been developed according to the requirements of Industry 4.0. Nieho ’s experience in the Russian market started more than 30 years ago when it began to develop its rst connections with Russian cable manufacturers.
