Flymca continues for the third year to focus on its main targets: machinery for production of special cables (o shore, submarine and umbilicals), without forgetting its traditional markets such as power cables and special customised cables with high added value. Special rigid stranding lines are designed for production of HV conductors, including waterproof systems such as yarns, tapes or injected paste. Lines are prepared to work with round, rectangular or trapezoidal shaped wires. Larger bobbins than the traditional 630 DIN are used to maximise production and decrease the number of stops. There is also an e cient wire tension control from full to empty bobbin. Advanced loading systems allow increasing the machine OEE. Planetary lines for armouring large submarine cables in the last manufacturing process include an automatic bobbins loading system to increase the machine’s e ciency. Special and customised planetary lines are for the production of umbilical cables. Planetary lines are for laying-up round and sector shaped conductors, including variable backtwist facility, and motorised bobbins drive control with integrated dancers to lower tensions on the wires/conductors to be stranded. In addition to these special lines, Flymca continues developing/building the ‘traditional’ machines such as tubular/ skip stranders, bow cablers and drum twisters, as well as large take-ups and pay-o s for large/heavy bobbins.
