Vertically mounted capstans (TRD-H) can reach a diameter of 600mm, whereas it is possible to have 800 or 900mm and even up to 1,200mm capstans on the horizontal version (TRD). The TRD range can be used with dry (powder) and wet (paste) lubricants depending on the application. Wet lubricants are generally used for aluminium wire applications. The range itself is suitable for both ferrous and non-ferrous wires and its design o ers easy access for maintenance, to parts and components and particularly for wire threading on the TRD-H. High productivity and a better nal wire quality, coupled with features such as perfect alignment of wire between die and capstan, as well as low energy consumption due to electronic control of motor and line operation go to ensure an advanced drawing solution. UV coatings are available and widely used in many diverse elds due to the special properties and for the advantages obtained in many applications. However, until now, a lack of feasible technology has meant that the appli- cation of UV coatings on metallic wire has not developed. Lubrimetal has invested time and money not only in chemical research but also in a specialised engineering division. This means that the company has been able to develop its UVIOL LM range of curable coatings ready to meet their requirements of the wire industry, in tandem with an application and curing process that ensures the best possible adhesion onto the wire surface.
