Proton Products, a global provider of precision measurement and control products for the wire and cable industries, will debut its latest product innovations at Wire Expo 2018. New products include: • The InteliSENS DG2200-K dual-axis diameter gauge features a gate size of 200mm, and is capable of measuring product diameters from 0.5 to 180mm. In addition, the new triple-axis InteliSENS DG3200-K gauge is capable of measuring the same large diameter products. The accuracy of both gauges is ±15 microns with a resolution of 1 micron at a scan rate of 1kHz. • InteliSENS SL/SLR 1220 and SL/ SLR 3060-W mini series feature a new optical bench that is able to capture 30 per cent more re ected light from the product. This new development recognises the fact that light re ected from round objects is scattered, in contrast to at objects where it is re ected normally. The SL/SLR 1220-W and 3060-W series utilise a larger lens size that improves the signal strength and accuracy, to give superior speed and length cable measurement performance.

PWM will exhibit its comprehensive range of precision-engineered manual cold pressure welding machines. The products will be presented by Joe Snee Associates, PWM’s exclusive distributor for the USA and Canada. The largest machine on show, the M101, is one of PWM’s best-selling products. Robust, low-maintenance, and very simple to operate, the M101 is designed for welding copper wire 0.04" to 0.141" (1 to 3.6mm) and aluminium wire 0.04" to 0.197" (1 to 5mm). It can also be used to weld trapezoidal and strip pro les.

Also available is conductor grease, to prevent corrosion of overhead line conductors made from aluminium, aluminium alloy, steel or multi-metal wires. This is a cold applied product meeting IEC 61394:2011, EN50326:2002 type 20 A 150 and type 40 A 125. These new product lines complement the existing range for the drawing and rolling of copper and aluminium alloys, as well as the extensive Q8Oils metal manufacturing product range and services. The M101 from PWM

The M101 can be used on a workbench or supplied with a cart, enabling the operator to move it easily to the work area. Like all PWM cold welding machines, the M101 produces reliable permanent welds stronger than the parent material. PWM’s BM10 and BM30 cold welders can also be used on a workbench or with a cart. The BM10 has a capacity of 0.0039" to 0.0236" (0.1 to 0.6mm), while the BM30 will weld wire 0.0118” to 0.071" (0.3 to 1.8mm). Two handheld cold welders will also be on show. The M10 for ne wire 0.0039" to 0.0196" (0.1 to 1.5mm) and the M25 for 0.0098" to 0.047" (0.25 to 1.2mm), are both comfortable to hold and easy to operate. PWM cold welding equipment is designed and made by skilled tech- nicians in PWM’s own UK workshops.
