MFL Group is a family-owned company specialising in industrial machinery for wire, cable and rope manufacturing. Established in 1897 as a small workshop, the company has evolved into a provider of comprehensive production solutions, offering a wide range of machinery and expertise in designing complete production plants, from drawing and stranding to extrusion lines. At wire Eurasia, the company’s wire and cable division will showcase its extrusion lines. With safety in cable construction becoming increasingly important, innovative materials like HFFR are gaining prominence. MFL engineers have developed an extensive range of machines to process these materials, ensuring precise melt temperature control and high output. These advancements have led to an international patent for flame-resistant material processing technology.

Niehoff’s D 632 type double-twist bunching machine

The D 632 machine features high productivity and is claimed to deliver high-quality products on perfectly filled spools. The single-bow design in combination with the Eco-Bow results in energy savings compared to conventional bunching machines. Further features include electric lay length adjustment (changing lay length without changing gears) and constant tension control of the strands from empty to full bobbin. As the D 632 produces strands with very tight tolerances, only the minimum required copper cross-section is generated. This leads to savings in material and operating costs. The variable and controlled wire tension – independent of the spool filling – together with the integrated opto-electronic NBAT (Niehoff Bunching Automatic Traverse) system allows the spools to be filled with a perfect winding pattern.
