Partnership for floating offshore wind research AMRC Cymru is working with Japan Marine United Corp (JMU) as part of a strategic research partnership to develop floating offshore wind (FLOW) power in Wales and the rest of the UK. recognises the significant capabilities that exist in Wales in sustainable energy solutions for a greener future. The collaboration, formalised in a memorandum of understanding (MoU), will promote common goals in project development for floating offshore wind farms in the Celtic Sea and areas of the UK. The joint research will focus on integrating advanced technologies and expertise to provide solutions for Welsh supply chains, and contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gases to support a more sustainable way of living. The announcement was welcomed by the Welsh Government’s cabinet secretary for economy, energy and planning, Rebecca Evans, as a “forward thinking agreement”. She said, “It

Education centre set to transform wire industry training

Center library with an adaptation of its flagship Fundamentals of Wire Manufacturing course, to be delivered in a comprehensive series of on-demand modules. Course topics include wire drawing, lubricants and wire breaks. The Wire Association International Inc (WAI) has launched its online Education Center, a training platform designed to revolutionise professional development in the wire and cable manufacturing industry. The versatile and accessible platform offers a modern approach to training, combining the visual aid of high-quality 3D animations and real-world footage with expert instruction.
