MoU to advance green steel technologies and decarbonisation initiatives A delegation from SMS group, led by CEO Jochen Burg, visited Tan Chengxu, chairman and party secretary of Ansteel group on 16 January to witness the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two organisations. Both companies affirmed their commitment to collaborate on “dual carbon” initiatives, focusing on carbon peak and neutrality goals. They aim to deepen cooperation in products, technologies and projects to advance and innovate green steel technologies, supporting the sustainable development of the global steel industry. The MoU was signed by the head of Ansteel group’s strategic planning department and Peter Langner, president and CEO of SMS group China, representing their respective companies. Tan Chengxu expressed gratitude for the long-standing support from SMS group, emphasising that decarbonisation is the cornerstone of high-quality development.

With a long history of environmental stewardship, the facility has implemented several initiatives to reduce its environmental impact, including overall scrap and waste reduction, energy conservation and water management.
