The company states that combining its new patented Coaxial Universal Connector with a measuring instrument such as the AESA Scorpius DT device enhances the user experience in measuring the high frequency para- meters of coaxial cables with accuracy and repeatability. The Scorpius DT is a complete and integrated solution to characterise both 50Ω and 75Ω coaxial cables. It includes an embedded VNA (vector network analyser), standard Microsoft Windows computer and specially designed user friendly software. The newly released Coaxial Universal Connector mounted on traditional N-type (N50 and N75/F75) interfaces allows the operator to quickly connect different products while ensuring electrical contacts on both the centre conductor and the shield of the coaxial cable. Operators only have to strip the outer insulation layer on a sufficient length and choose the appropriate provided chuck. Calibration artefacts are provided in order to ensure a correct calibration plan.

Aachener GmbH (Amba) specialises in equipment for the production of long and slender components with varying cross sections, such as screws between 60 and 2,500mm long, and tubes and spokes. The company will be showing two new all-in-one screw-making machines at wire 2024: the BM12 and BM-BiMetal. With the BM12, Amba has increased the product range covered by its all-in-one machines to wire gauges of up to 18mm diameter. The new machine forms wire gauges of up to 12mm conventionally by cold working. Its new feature is the integrated hot-forming capability for larger diameters: for 12 to 18mm gauge wire, the material is inductively heated within the machine before upsetting. All-in-one screw-making machine: all process steps are performed by a single machine

The first machine of the new series will be used to produce up to 600mm-long screws with thread diameters of 19mm or more, directly from the coil. It will be installed at a US customer site, where it will replace two existing production lines consisting of several individual machines that require manual feeding. The all in-one principle will provide increased productivity as it performs all process steps from wire payoff, straightening and blank cutting, and screw head upsetting, up to and including thread rolling, within a single machine. The new Amba machine will also use less space than the current equipment. The new BM-BiMetal can produce up to 100 self-drilling bi-metal screws per minute, fully automatically.
