cleaning of continuous profiles of wires, ribbons, strands and cables, and offers a range of aqueous and mechanical wire cleaning systems for single- and multi wire applications. Mechanical wire cleaning with brushes, textiles and microfibres removes trouble-causing contamination from the visible surface by mechanical friction. Although brushes or textiles can be very effective, such methods quickly reach their limits. Aqueous cleaning can substantially meet the task of removing contamination even out of the smallest surface defects. Depending on the requirements, high pressure nozzles, steam or ultrasonic modules are used individually or in combination in these systems. Since the cleaning result is determined by several factors, the recommendation for a suitable cleaning process is preceded by analysis of the relevant parameters. Processes are tested in near production conditions at GEO’s test laboratory, allowing the company to build solutions for most types of client request. For the final assessment of the surface quality achieved, GEO offers easy-to-use test devices for daily use in laboratory and production. The company also produces machines that can coat drawn and finished welding wires to maintain their cleanliness. The range is supplemented by accessories such as air wipes, spiral brushes and lubricants.

goals, adopting an approach that it says is sensitive to customers and the environment. Since 2023, the company’s CBAM report has been making improvements every quarter. Operating in the cable market since 1981, Gurfil has established itself as a supplier of braiding and taping machines, as well as a manufacturer of cable raw materials. its manufactured goods, Gurfil presents its products to the international markets in more than 35 countries. It registers their size, shape, position and number, and displays the defects simultaneously on a screen. The line operator recognises when tolerance limits are exceeded and can take correc- tive action in the production process. The surface inspection system can be combined with other systems such as eddy current testing, geometry measuring and marking devices.

Forming processes and deflection accumulate metal fines, making the surface of deformed material often far from an ideal smoothness. Cracks, overlaps and other surface defects are filled with a mixture of residual drawing lubricating material. Cleaning usually seeks to reduce or remove this contamination. The individual cleaning methods have their respective strengths in order to achieve the desired result. For more than two decades, GEO Reinigungstechnik has dealt with the
