Delta Tecnic SA

solutions utilising eddy current and ultrasonic technologies for a wide range of applications. Since its establishment in 1988, CMS has delivered innovative and accurate turnkey systems that are adaptable, durable, repeatable and traceable. All of the company’s inspection systems are tailored to meet the requirements and applications of its customers.

A particular branch of aluminium lines is CCW (continuous cast and rolled wire) used for the production of welding wires and complex mechanical alloy wires. Continuus-Properzi’s Vert-Melt furnaces offer efficiency with low emissions, with a compact layout, low maintenance and low gas consumption. In the zinc segment, the market requires either pure zinc or zinc aluminium alloys with precise physical, mechanical and geometrical properties, in diameters from 1.2 to 3.2mm and greater. Continuus-Properzi supplies zinc CCR lines ranging from 1 to 5 tph (4,900 to 32,700 t per year). The lines are configured to allow the production of both zinc and zinc alloy wire with minimum modification and with dedicated furnaces. Continuus-Properzi has always devel oped new functions for its plants (new and old), linked to industrial automa tion that integrates new production technologies to improve working condi tions, create new business models and increase productivity and quality. The latest example is the internally developed Iulius control and automation system, designed to fulfil four fundamental principles: interoperability, information transparency, technical assistance and decentralised decision making.

09 A22 Delta Tecnic will present its masterbatch solutions at wire. The company’s products are designed to reduce environmental impact and improve efficiency in cable manufacturing, using optimised production processes that avoid the generation of non-conforming product. The company will unveil how it contributes to the sustainable future of the cable industry. Featured solutions to be presented will include: • Masterbatch for TPU and TPU flame retardant cables: an advanced solution for thermoplastic poly- urethane cables that simplifies and optimises the TPU cable colouring process by using a single master- batch that can be used in the different flame-retardant formu- lations currently on the market • Masterbatch for photovoltaic: Delta Tecnic produces masterbatches that have been approved to meet demanding standards in photovoltaic cables, ensuring outdoor per- formance, as well as cables in sporadic contact with water. Through careful selection of raw materials, the company is able to offer energy cable companies homogeneity of colour, maintenance of high transmission capacities and flame-retardant properties • Fibre optic masterbatch: with increasing demand for smaller cables, the company has formulated a range of masterbatch that provides high opacity and colouring, ensuring that fibre optic cable tubes maintain their original visual identification, even as the PBT tube wall becomes narrower and narrower • Masterbatch for fluoropolymers: Delta Tecnic will highlight the manufacturing of masterbatches through the dilution of fluoropolymer resin. Among the qualities of these coatings are their low surface energy, low friction coefficient, high inertness to any chemical agent, high resistance to abrasion and no alteration due to the action of light Delta Tecnic has more than 40 years of experience and a total of 20,000m 2 in facilities, with three production plants – two in Barcelona, Spain, and one in Querétaro, Mexico. Among the three divisions of Delta Tecnic, DeltaColor Masterbatch has a production capacity of 18,000 tons per year. In addition, the division has more than 11,000 developments and 22 production lines.

TRVC rotating head

CMS offers specialised eddy current NDT systems designed specifically for wire inspection. The TRVC rotating head is installed directly on the production line and allows inspection of a diameter range from 0.8 to 10mm (0.031 to 0.375"). It performs the detection of surface or subsurface longitudinal defects at high speed on circular products such as wires. The product moves in translation through the rotating head, while eddy current probes rotate around the product contactlessly. The inspection is carried out with a helical pitch and the results are displayed in real time on the instrument screen. CMS also offers a wide range of RotoETscan equipment for the inspection of larger circular parts such as tubes and bars made of ferrous or non ferrous materials. The company’s coil support ensures accurate positioning of encircling coils for the detection of surface and subsurface short and transverse defects on non-magnetic products such as wires, tubes and bars. The coil support can perform inspection on products with diameters ranging from 0.1 to 230mm (0.004 to 9"). In case of flaw detection, the coil’s impedance varies. The results are displayed live in a time-based and/or a Lissajous figure. CMS designs and manufactures its own eddy current probes in-house, providing the flexibility to tailor them according to customers’ specific needs. Controle Mesure Systemes www.cmseddyscan.com
