for the wire and cable industries. Danny Buelens, director, Proton Products Europe NV, commented, “These modern facilities underline our commitment as an Industry 4.0 company. They will support our further growth into the industries we serve. Here we will accommodate and retain more young professionals to develop the Proton brand and reputation for many years to come.”
The P1500 o ers wire and cable manufacturers a way to weld large rod sections. The energy-e cient, clean, quiet and user-friendly P1500 uses a combination of electro and hydraulic power to produce reliable permanent welds stronger than the parent material. The full PWM range includes small, lightweight handheld manual machines for ne wire up to 1.2mm (0.047"); manual and powered models that can be used on a workbench or supplied with a trolley for wire from 0.3 to 6.5mm (0.0118" to 0.256"); and large, free-standing rod welders for material up to 30mm (1.181"). PWM’s products are precision engineered in-house and tested to ensure accuracy. The company manufactures industry-standard dies and can produce custom-made dies for speci c applications. PWM Ltd www.pwmltd.co.uk In recent years, many wire mills have closed not only because of productivity issues and costs, but also through environmental non-compliance. With the industry increasingly facing environmental issues, PWT has focused on helping companies meet such obligations. PWT’s LCM 800 lubricant conditioning machine aims to reduce drawing lubri- cant waste by providing reconditioned lubricant that can be used in the soap without a ecting performance. Companies manufacturing tyre bead and cord use these machines to save on lubricant purchases and waste disposal. The EMW electromagnetic wiping system is designed to give high performance and accuracy of Zinc/ZnAl coating weights. It is used for high- to low-carbon wires from 0.7 to 9mm. It can allow increased productivity, reduced yield losses and reduced raw material usage without environmental impact. The company’s galvanising lines also reduce environmental issues in many areas. They are designed to suit the economic conditions of the country in which they are installed. PWT Ltd Stand: 13 C15

The Pittini Group, headquartered in Udine, Italy, produces long steels for the construction and mechanical industry. With a production output of around three million tons per year, 18 production and logistic service facilities and 1,800 collaborators, Pittini is oriented towards constant growth, and guided by high-technological investments, product innovation and a careful environmental sustainability policy. The facilities manage the entire production cycle, focusing on a circular economy, from the raw material (ferrous scrap and recycled metals) to the nished product, with the production of billets, rolled products for reinforced concrete in coils and bars, and wire rod. Wire rod is further transformed into electro-welded products for the building industry, such as mesh and lattice girders, or into rolled and drawn products for the mechanical industry and the production of welding wires. Acciaierie di Verona, known for its long iron and steel processing, has been part of this industrial group since 2015, and has undergone a technological upgrade of its production facilities.

PWM Ltd Stand: 09 B41
PWM will present a new version of its ST40 strip welder at wire 2020. The manufacturer of cold pressure welding machines and dies will also exhibit a comprehensive range of manual and powered cold welders, including its largest machine model, the P1500, for rod up to 30mm (1.181"). The redesigned ST40 now has a welding head that can be positioned either vertically or horizontally on the trolley, to suit a wide variety of applications and production set-ups. The air/ hydraulic-powered machine, speci cally designed for strip, can weld material up to a maximum width of 45mm (1.772") and a minimum thickness of 0.2mm (0.00787"), depending on material properties. The ST40 can be moved easily to the work area, saving e ort and reducing downtime.
