a enables continuous operation for weeks with little or no variation in temperature, wall thickness or concentricity. The lead wall thickness can be kept to a minimum, with corresponding savings in lead. Energy-e cient melting pots are available for capacities of 10, 18, 35 and 60 tonnes. Also available from HFSAB are CRRS and Model SM-H cable stripping machines. Both are capable of removing individual layers without causing damage to the subsequent layer below. This enables the outer jacket, lead sheath or triple layer XLPE to be reapplied and the cable repaired. The CRRS is used for the removal of outer sheathing materials such as HDPE with or without a bonded thin aluminium metallic sheath, PE, PVC or lead. H Folke Sandelin AB www.hfsab.com control system that H&R is a provider of cable uids and compounds for the energy and telecommunication sectors. With more than half a century of experience in the development, manufacture and supply of cable compound technology, H&R Group has supplied a number of high-pro le cabling projects. At wire 2020, the H&R cables division will exhibit a number of new products and technologies, including: • Anagen – A self-healing dielectric uid for the impregnation of hollow- core design AC cables, with the capability to self-heal in the event of a leak caused by cable damage • Aquaswell – A water-swellable coating developed for the manufacture of water-swelling tapes and yarns for use in the cable manufacturing industry • Cable DNA – H&R’s anti-cable-theft technology, which can also be used in XLPE cable insulation repair applications • Flame-retardant range – Flame- retardant cable gels, and compounds for energy and telecommunication cables o ering ame-retardant and low-smoke properties • Gemini – A exible and re-enterable cold pour joint box compound developed for cable termination boxes • Strandblok – A cable-sealing compound developed for strand sealing applications in medium- to high-voltage AC XLPE cable applications H&R ChemPharm Stand: 12 A64

A greater length of material is one of the advantages of spool-wound raw cable material usage. A cable manufacturer can run its taping unit for longer without a break, which saves time changing bobbins and minimises cable waste. Spool-wound materials also allow better and safer packaging for transportation. Gur l Foil, Film, Tape & Machinery AS www.gur l.com H Folke Sandelin AB (HFSAB), a specialist in lead extrusion and cable stripping equipment, will be co-exhibiting at wire 2020 with Nieho Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co KG. HFSAB personnel will be available to discuss the company’s latest developments, such as die centring technology and lead extrusion controls for saving lead during the extrusion process, and to talk about why lead should be used instead of aluminium in wet applications. For more than 60 years, the lead extruder from HFSAB has been designed, manufactured and assembled only in Sweden, using the latest manufacturing techniques and high quality materials, to ensure that lead-sheathed cables are produced trouble-free and with a perfect moisture barrier. The Schmidt company has supple- mented its series of stationary tension sensors with a new compact series. Di ering from the existing models in geometry and design, the at MZ series can be used where space problems arise due to wires or cables running in parallel, such as when entering a stranding machine.

The sensors are equipped with di erent sized guide rollers, with the roll sizes depending on the required measuring range and the dimensions of the material to be measured. Measuring ranges from 0 to 2,000 cN to maximum 0 to 100 daN are available. All sensors are equipped as standard with a preampli er, which has already proven itself with other Schmidt sensors. Analogue, digital and current are optionally available as output signals. In addition to its tension meters, the company will display other control instruments, including force gauges and test stands; universal strength testing machines; tachometers and stroboscopes; and thickness gauges.
