based on FEP/ETFE for the manufacturing of high-range cables where FEP is used as an insulation polymer and/or for jacketing. masterbatch: This masterbatch colour range, which includes a laser marking additive, allows cables to be marked using a laser marker, facilitating higher production speeds and more reliable and durable marking, substituting traditional marking methods (by injection or wheel). Conductive PVC cable compounds: A range of electrically conductive cable compounds that reduce the risk of electrostatic energy discharge. The properties of these compounds are permanent and do not depend on temperature or humidity. Antioxidant and UV absorber: For customers who want to protect their polymer from UV rays, Delta Tecnic o ers the possibility of incorporating a UV absorber into the masterbatch formulation. Delta Tecnic SA www.deltatecnic.com Laser-marking colour DEM is a mechanical engineering company with global operations, specialising in the development and manufacture of machines and systems for processing wire and reinforcing steel. Its range of equipment covers a wide spectrum of rolling technologies, and includes cold rolling equipment with customised degrees of automation for the production of at and pro le wire in ferrous and non-ferrous material, reinforcing steel wire in bars and coils, and micro mills with heating of wire rod by means of induction furnaces. (cassette) adapted to the product diameter. Two or four eddy current probes, installed inside the cassette, rotate at high speed (18,000 rpm) around the wire, while the product moves through the rotating head. The nozzles inside the system ensure proper centring of the wire during inspection. Connected to the EC instrument Zet@ Master, it detects longitudinal defects > 50µm on the product, but can also be combined with other CMS equipment, such as magnetising or demagnetising units, for complete product inspection. Contrôle Mesure Systèmes www.cmseddyscan.com Drawing on its knowledge of polymer formulations and its experience with extrusion processes, Delta Tecnic formulates solutions with the goal of optimising customers’ processes and providing in-depth knowledge of the market and innovations, maximising the e ciency of the cable production process. The company has developed speci c ranges of masterbatches with di erent polymers designed to meet the strict requirements currently demanded by di erent applications within the cable industry: automotive, telecom, data and energy. With a constant focus on technology and research, Delta Tecnic has developed several product ranges that provide industry-speci c solutions, including the following technological innovations. Micro masterbatches: Small Micropellet and Microbead range of small-grain masterbatches dedicated to improving quality outcomes in colour homogeneity. These smaller-sized masterbatches allow for faster cable production with an optimal nish, improving productivity. The special polymer formulation of the range improves the dilution process inside customers’ extruders, helping them to achieve optimum colour homogeneity. Sepiolite masterbatch PVC: This Delta Tecnic Masterbatch with ADINS clay additives has been developed for use in compound formulations in combination with classic ame-retardant llers to improve the re-resistance properties and optimise the cost of the nal PVC-FR compounds. FEP/ETFE colour masterbatches: Delta Tecnic has developed a range of colours Delta Tecnic SA Stand: 09 E49
customers. The same die will measure the same on all Conoptica systems. Conoptica traces its reference objects to the National Metrology Institute of Germany, PTB. Important questions to ask when selecting the right model include whether detailed bearing analysis of the dies is needed. Traditionally only the bearing length has been measured, mainly due to the complexity of the measurement. The CU11 series is able to also analyse the symmetry (or asymmetry) of the bearing, uncovering defects in the geometry that were previously unknown. The practical e ects of bearing asym- metry in wire drawing is little known in the industry. With increased demands for productivity, this is subject to change in the future. Investing in a system with the ability to provide the necessary measurements for this analysis may be advisable. Visitors to wire Düsseldorf will be able to see and try the complete range of drawing die measurement systems, from the entry-level CU6 to the CU11S, and the large-die CU20. Accompanying the systems will be a number of Conoptica engineers and developers, ready to answer questions in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese and Norwegian.
