TW dies are designed to ensure accurate quality parameters, to obtain aluminium strands that are shaped to provide a smooth outer surface and t to meet applicable ASTM standards. High quality raw materials are used to make the TW dies e cient and long lasting. To resolve the issue of smaller diameter conductors, the company’s trapezoidal shape dies can be enlarged to provide a greater cross-sectional area of aluminium and match the diameter of the conventional round conductor. The VNT Nano dies are used for stranding, compacting and bunching for copper and aluminium, and for low carbon/ welding wire drawing to save power consumption and metal, producing a bright surface, and avoiding heat generation on the die or conductor. Ajex & Turner has developed VNT Nano dies for a range from 0.7 to 100mm for electrodes, CO 2 welding, stainless steel wire, etc. The dies are made with multi-layer coatings of nanocrystalline diamond through vapour deposition on the hardest base metal, which provides a smooth surface with low friction.
