New double-twist strander

MASCHINENFABRIK Niehoff is expanding its activities into larger rotating equipment for stranding wires and cables with bigger cross sections. The expansion programme covers three D series double-twist stranders for spool sizes 1,250mm, 1,600mm and 2,000mm, as well as rigid stranders. The first machine of the expanded D series is the D 1252 model. The new D 1252 double-twist strander is used for stranding and compacting (round and sector) class 2 conductors for energy cables up to 19 wires with a cross-section of up to 120mm². The machine is also capable of stranding hard Cu and Al alloy wires, bunching flexible conductors up to 120mm² and laying up LV insulated conductors. The machine can reach a maximum rotating speed of 2,000 tpm and a line speed of 300m/min. It features the service-proven energy-saving single-bow design and is equipped with an energy class IE3 energy-saving rotor drive and an adjustable fan drive in the soundproof cabin. quality of the produced conductor due to a straight conductor path from the second twist pulley to the haul-off capstan. Strong compacting degree is achieved via a motorised compacting die with lubrication. Two pairs of compacting rollers are provided for the quality of sector shaped conductors. The machine is operated using a network-compatible human machine interface (HMI) colour touchscreen monitor called NMI (NiehoffMachine Interface). The D 1252 is equipped with the highest automation and production control, offering repeatable product quality and efficiency.
