EuroWire March 2018
wire 2018 show
16 th - 20 th April
Services presently in development include: • Digital technical service manual • O nline spare parts ordering • Sensor-based process monitoring • Data collect and data analysis for improved OEE • Management training ENKOnail+ with data collect is a high speed rotary nail manufacturing machine from the ENKOnail+ series. The NI02 will be producing head-marked nails during the show. The machine includes a PLC control system and data surveillance features for improved production efficiency. ENKOllator with strip handler is an efficient plastic stick collator, type CPS01, running with a strip handler, type PSC01, both engineered and built by Baussmann. The collating machine is intended for making plastic collated strip nails, using servo-drive technology in all processes. Enkotec’s new products include a number of efficient machines getting ready for launch: • ENKOnail+ machine, type NS02, 2,000 nails per minute, nails down to 25mm • ENKOpack nail-counter packaging machine, type NCP03 • ENKOclean washing system, type KSN01 • ENKOllator plastic coil collator, type CPC01, 1,500 nails per minute
• A new E2 crosshead with skin and stripe/s for high speed production • A versatile E4 crosshead for skin-foam-skin and stripe/s for high speed production

in polymer extrusion. During 2017, two new CNC five-axis milling machines were added to the machine shop; the result is a rise in production and improved precision. Erocarb delivers crossheads intended for products with flat, round or various geometrical shapes. Extrusion lines for insulation, sheathing/jacketing, filling-sheathing, and triple layer on CV lines are implementing Erocarb crossheads. Erocarb also produces crossheads for flat ribbon, insulation, medical and irrigation tube. The short conical crossheads, typical from Erocarb, achieve a high concentricity in fixed-centring or with the fine tuning device drive the success. Larger models use fix and manual centring. The distri- butors are defined for the specific polymers to be used: PE, PVC, TPU, HFFR or EPDM. Many Hastelloy® crossheads are also manufactured for the extrusion of fluoropolymer. In this case, additional heaters will be implemented in order to guarantee the proper temperature level for FEP, PFA and ETFE. Beside standard crossheads, Erocarb also sells tailor-made solutions designed by internal engineers. In either case, the projects are submitted to customers before any manufacturing process. 3D views and models allow the checking of solutions at an early stage of the project, and save time during the assembly process. Complementary to the crosshead series, the ETEL maintenance modules save time and reduce wear: cleaning processes and exchange of tooling can be done easily and safely. Whether standard or specific devices, Erocarb is focused on the customer’s needs. Precision and traceability enable Erocarb to deliver spare parts even for genuine extrusion equipment delivered over 20 years ago. Products to be introduced at the show include: • New versions of crossheads from the E2, E4 and E14 family, with reduced front head length to ease access to the front die face ▲ New versions of crossheads from the E2, E4 and E14 family
Fainplast was founded in Ascoli Piceno, Italy, in 1993. In a short time the company has obtained a predominant role in the selective market of plastic compounds for the cable industry. The plant spans an area of more than 85,000m 2 and has a production capacity of almost 100,000 tons per year. The production flexibility of its plant, the research and development capability of a well-equipped laboratory, and its experienced material specialists allow the company to be a leader in the cable industry. programme includes a large range of PVC compounds for standard and high-temperature applications (up to 125°C) on request, with flame-retardant or low-smoke properties and additional resistance to water, oil, gasoline, termites, rodents, UV radiation or very cold environments. Fainplast is a European leader in the production of thermoplastic and cross- linkable, halogen-free, flame-retardant (HFFR) compounds, increasingly used or the production of cables that are installed in public buildings and other areas where there is a high human risk in case of fire. Its crosslinkable halogen-free flame- retardant compounds are based on Sioplas crosslinking methods that can be used by all cable manufacturers without the need to invest in expensive crosslinking equipment. Its crosslinkable compounds are suitable for all applications where higher mechanical and thermal properties are required, together with good flame retardance and the absence of halogens. Together with its PVC and HFFR production, Fainplast produces other polyolefin-based compounds for the cable industry such as Propylplus, a range of solid and foam polypropylene compounds; Ethylplus, a family of solid and foam polyethelene compounds for primary insulation, dielectric and black sheathing of cables; and CTX, a range of Fainplast’s production
