A new feature is the ability to automatically detect the width of spools and the ange type – straight or other than 90˚. FA II automatically adapts to the new position and width when a spool of di erent width has been inserted. The system is designed for handling round material with diameters from 0.1 to 2mm to be wound on cylindrical spools. It can be used for rectangular or conical anges up to an angle of 40°. As bent anges are compensated for, the spools can be lled entirely. Joachim Uhing GmbH & Co KG – Germany Website : www.uhing.com Ultimate will be displaying its latest versions of the Ultimat range of 2D CNC wire forming machines, which incorporate new faster servo drives, and new generation software and control systems. The company will be exhibiting three models from its Ultimat range, all with automatic butt welding: • A UMW-65 model suitable for a wire range of 2 to 6.5mm, speci cally designed for manufacturers of point of purchase displays and supermarket shelving, etc • A larger UMW-100 model suitable for a wire range of 3 to 10mm, used extensively by manufacturers of supermarket products, oven and refrigerator shelving • A new Ultimat model designed for forming and welding rings primarily used for dust extraction lters and air suspension systems Ultimate Automation Stand: 12B72
All Ultimat models feature a “closed die” forming and cutting system, giving a high quality square, burr-free cut and butt weld. Options available include secondary bend heads for intricate forms; tilting table models for larger components or for forming spiral forms used in fan guards; and press, drilling, threading and chamfering stations and automatic part unloading systems. Six standard models cover a wire range from 2 to 16mm with a maximum frame size of 60" x 60". The versatile Ultimat design negates the need for special tooling to produce high-quality parts and components. Special Ultimat versions can be supplied for use with at strip or pro led wire. The company’s product line is not limited to standard wire forming machines; it also designs and manufactures special-purpose models to suit customer requirements. Ultimate Automation Ltd – UK Website : www.ultimat.com The Videx VC-MS models work from wire coil and are a solution for small production batches and frequent changeover of wire diameters and lengths. The machines are equipped with a patented servo cut-o , using mechanical drive and using neither clutches nor hydraulics. The machines are therefore quieter and more reliable, requiring less maintenance. The straightener reciprocates during cut-o (same principle as ying shear) and never twists on the wire in one place. This feature is especially critical for a better durability when running high-tensile wire. For very short parts, the cut-o cam cuts the wire continuously, at steady intervals, according to the wire feed rate. For longer parts, the cut is performed by the servo drive through a ag. The wire feed rate is determined by a speed controller. The run-o guide is made out of stainless steel. It requires no adjustment when changing wire diameters within machine range. The gate of the run-o guide is pneumatically operated. It is quiet and smooth, and supports the wire during cut-o , to assure a square cut face. The positive stop is mounted on a carriage that rides along the run-o guide, so there is no need to dismantle any parts Videx Stand: 15A53
The Ultimat UMW range of two-axis, PC-controlled wire forming and welding machines are used for the manufacture of a wide range of wire products from POP displays and appliance shelving to automotive components. ▲ The UMW-65 wire forming machine from Ultimate Automation
