Brian Anderson joins Davis-Standard as CPO

Davis-Standard, a designer and manu- facturer of extrusion and converting technology, has appointed Brian Anderson as chief procurement officer (CPO). In his new role, Mr Anderson will assume global responsibility for the company’s procurement and supply chain operations, and will oversee all aspects of supplier management, sourcing strategies and cost optimisation initiatives. Prior to Davis-Standard, Mr Anderson gained 30 years of experience in procure- ment and supply chain management, David Martin has joined ScotMaz – the sole distributor of Yamazaki Mazak machine tools in Scotland – as sales manager, to support the manufacturer’s growing presence in Scotland. Mr Martin, who has 25 years’ experience in the metalworking industry, began his career as a toolmaker before moving into technical sales roles with ABT Machine Tools, Arno UK and most recently Kyocera Unimerco Tooling. At ScotMaz he will promote Mazak’s extensive machine tool portfolio to customers in the oil and gas and general subcontracting industries, while also targeting growth opportunities in the country’s aerospace, food and beverage and renewable energy markets. The role will see him working closely with ScotMaz directors Scott and Steven Hunter at the company’s technology centre in Stirling.

Mazak strengthens Scottish presence with new sales manager

Guill promotes Rob Peters to general manager

Rob Peters has been promoted to general manager of extrusion tooling specialist Guill Tool. Mr Peters is a graduate of Cornell University, obtaining his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering and Master of Engineering in aerospace engineering. He has worked at Guill for eight years, starting as an R&D manager, transitioning to business intelligence/R&D manager, then director of technology.
