The Wire Association International (WAI) Inc successfully staged its latest Wire Expo trade event in June, at the Mohegan Sun Resort & Casino, Uncasville, Connecticut, USA. 1,108 participants from 38 states and 21 countries filled the exhibit hall and conference rooms. Describing the event, WAI 2024 president Daniel Blais said, “What a great turnout

at this year’s Wire Expo. We held the annual clock winding ceremony outside of the WAI headquarters for the first time. Breaking with tradition reminds us that our industry is in constant evolution and that we should never be afraid to try something different. The increased attendance and energy [at the event] show how important it is for our members to stay connected and learn first-hand what is happening within our industry.” This year’s keynote speakers shared their perspectives on improvement and manufacturing excellence, both to a full audience. HO Woltz, chairman, president and CEO of Insteel Industries, presented a keynote address titled “Success based on committing to continuous improvement and a passion for manufacturing”. Positive shift and growing interest at Wire Expo
The company highlighted strong interest in its No Twist Coiler technology, as attendees were engaged by the wire package produced in inverted carriers. This design offers several benefits, including convenient shipping options for end consumers and a user-friendly payoff option for further in-house processing without the need for electricity.
Swedish wire machinery manufacturer Lämneå Bruk reported a successful showing at Wire Expo 2024 in Uncasville, Connecticut, USA. Sales engineers Stefan Petersson and Jonathan Danborg-Tammelin noted a shift in the industry demographics, with more young professionals attending compared to previous years. While overall visitor numbers were satisfactory, a notable absence of some established industry figures was observed.
