Modular design taping machinery

Ridgway Machines is a manufacturer of taping machinery for cable and conductors. Its taping machines can be manufactured for a wide variety of applications, and are designed to meet customers’ specific requirements. They include multi-purpose taping heads that will apply a variety of materials such as Kapton®, glass and varnish, Daglas, mica and PTFE to round or flat conductors. Ridgway’s new HTM-CDC taping machine features two concentric taping heads and a CAT50 haul-through system. The taping heads are designed to accommodate both flat and cross-wound tape pads, to suit the required application. Twin servo motor technology ensures the fast and accurate application of the applied tapes. The modular design of the machinery allows it to be built to different specifications, such as one, two or three bay. The design of the machinery can be adjusted to suit specific customer/application requirements by Ridgway’s in-house design and manufacturing team. The company also manufactures equipment to complement the main taping machines. This range includes drum stands

His collaboration has benefited the company, helping to expand the market to an international level with his technical knowledge. His interest and ambition led him to acquire the company in 2023. In February this year, Transworld moved to a modern new showroom, in Waterfall Lane Trading Estate, Cradley Heath, Birmingham. With continuous collaboration between the two directors, Mr Barrett and Mr Pilley, the company is centred on tradition in customer care and modernity
