The woman driving the Harting brand In 1987, Margrit Harting joined the Harting Technology Group and launched its first employee newspaper. Since then, she has been responsible for the image and reputation of the Harting Technology Group, and has hosted celebrities from politics, culture and business.

Now the senior manager is celebrating her 35 th year of service, and her work as editor-in-chief of the People newspaper is only a small part of her commitment to the family business. As a high school graduate she had wanted to pursue oceanography as a career, but under the guidance of her father (the founder and director of a private business school), she studied business administration and became a teacher. She married Dietmar Harting in 1971, and gained an insight into the family business at meals with his mother, Marie, who had headed the company on her own since 1962. After Marie fell seriously ill, Dietmar asked his wife for support, andMargrit joined the company on 1 March 1987. In her position of managing director with sole power of

competitions and campaigns have been launched, for example for safety and order in the workplace; the familiarisation of children with technology; and enabling former employees to stay in touch. Margrit Harting uses her creative zest to help with anniversaries, company parties, inaugurations and public appearances. He will be moving to a new role as manufacturing technology and business expansion director, working closely with chief executive officer Tony Rodgers on growing and developing Emtelle’s business over the coming years. He is currently involved in the company’s capacity expansion in Wrexham, UK, as well as in a strategic project in North America, with the opening of a new manufacturing facility in Fletcher, North Carolina. Emtelle appoints new chief operating officer Emtelle, a manufacturer of blown fibre cable and ducted network solutions, has appointed experienced business leader Paul MacLaurin as its new chief operating officer. in France, the UK and Ireland; positioning the organisation for investment and enhanced profitability; and the establishment of a new benchmark in health and safety performance and culture across the region, along with initiatives to deliver sustained service excellence.

Mr MacLaurin joins the company from Wavin, a supplier of plastic pipe systems and solutions. He spent 15 years in his former role, 11 of which were as manufacturing director of southwest Europe for the Orbia Group business. As a member of Wavin’s senior operations team, he was responsible for the strategic direction and performance in manufacturing, engineering, technical and health and safety across ten sites in the UK, Ireland, France and Turkey. Other previous roles include senior manufacturing and technical positions in fine chemicals and FMCG with Astra Zeneca, Mars and Yule Catto. A graduate of the University of Hull, with a first-class BSc (Hons) in Chemistry, he also achieved a PhD from the University of Plymouth and is a chartered chemist.
