wires; and pre-coating for high-tensile galvanised steel wire drawing. It has also introduced special nano dispersion water-based lubricants for fine and extra-fine drawing of high tensile wires; new concept drawing technologies based on special diamond dies; and a new design of high-performance compact pressure dies. The company’s production programme includes Panlube S dry drawing lubricants – calcium, sodium, aluminium, zinc, lithium and combined products for low and high carbon steel and stainless steel; Panlube L wet drawing lubricants – oils, greases and pastes for wet drawing of low and high carbon, welding wire, stainless steel and non-ferrous wire; Pancover lubricant carriers – phosphates and non-reactive coatings; Panflux flux for galvanising – developed to improve the efficiency of the galvanising process by a

Pan Chemicals is an Italian producer of drawing lubricants, coatings and chemicals for the wire industry. It sells worldwide, either directly or through its network of agents, distributors and branch companies: Pan Chemicals Bosphorus in Turkey, and Pan Chemicals Americas in Mexico. The company’s research and development department explores new products and concepts, to offer its customers improved performance and efficiency, while also keeping a focus on environmental sustainability. Pan Chemicals has recently added to its portfolio new products such as ash less lubricants for high quality surface after annealing; polymer-based pre coating for cold forming applications; polymer pre-coat lubricants for heavy duty bar drawing; nanotechnology based protective coating for galvanised

Clean, lightweight flexible cable carrier system Tsubaki Kabelschlepp has developed Quantum, a lightweight, low-noise and low-dust cable carrier system that is suitable for the kind of clean-room applications found in microchip and semiconductor production. this “polygon effect”. Depending on the form factor, its pitch can be 50 per cent smaller than in comparable link chains. The system also facilitates a degree of 3D motion, so there is no need for extra carriers to handle moderate multi-axis movement.

Curved sections avoid vibrations that could cause wear in the upper run. This smooth-running operation is achieved by the one-part side band. The Quantum cable carrier system also features design details such as separate stay systems that can be opened both inwards and outwards, with variable widths and a wide range of options for height separation. The driver connection can also be moved laterally and rotated by up to ±30°.

High load capacity, functional reliability and durability are ensured by quality materials such as aluminiumand technical plastics for the stays, and extruded steel cables in the profile support floor. The system is designed for acceleration of up to 300m/s 2 and operating speeds of up to 40m/s. Tsubaki Kabelschlepp GmbH www.kabelschlepp.de

Quantum has been designed without joints to ensure that no abrasion or wear is caused by the connecting elements during operation. Conventional cable carriers feature jointed links that form polygons in curved sections due to their pitch. During operation, this effect causes vibration, wear and noise. Quantum’s design avoids
