Off-line testing for wire, cable, tube and round products

length is held by two Zero chucks, or other holding solutions, on the top and bottom of the instrument. Fast, automatic non-contact measurements along the entire length of the sample are achieved by tracking a high specification three-axis laser micrometer along a precision motor driven slide actuator. The measurements are automatically logged and processed by Metron’s interactive data visualisation system, TotalVu, which allows the operator to see product OD and ovality along the length of the sample. It is possible to analyse sample data in detail at any point of the scan, and to zoom in on areas where a problem may have been identified. This allows process diagnostics to be performed to identify the problem. Different sample lengths can be accepted up to a maximum of 1.8m (72") or as specified by the user, and product diameters from 0.1 to 29.2mm (0.004" to

Laserlinc’s Metron is a system for auto mating the off-line testing of complex shaped piece parts, corrugated and com plex shaped tubing, braided cables and similar high-specification products. Off-line testing of products is a critical part of ensuring quality and compliance, but is carried out by manual methods such as ring gauges, calipers, engineering microscopes or even pulling a sample manually through a laser micrometer. While these methods are accurate, they can be very operator dependent, resulting in poor reproducibility associated with the method used and the degree of interpretation. For example, soft tubing can be easily deformed by contact methods, leading to false readings caused by the way the test is applied and difference between operator techniques. Metron takes the variability out of testing by automating the process of dimensional inspection. A sample up to 1.8m (72") in

35m/s. For a smooth and efficient process, the fastening of the finishing end is also made by servomotor. The servomotor brand is customisable – customers can choose between Siemens, Lenze and Allen Bradley. To add to the flexibility, the spool supply magazine can handle different types of spools such as wire baskets, plastic and fibre spools without adjustment. In response to customer demand, the Fully Automatic Precision Layer Winder is now available for 30kg and 15kg, as well as smaller 5kg and 1kg spools. The Lämneå Bruk teamhas also developed a packaging robot as optional equipment for the Fully Automatic Precision Layer Winder. The robot checks the total weight of the finished spools that the machine has spooled. If there are any discrepancies, the robot puts the spool aside to be checked by staff, and continues with the next spool for an uninterrupted process. If everything is in accordance with the quality standards, the finished spools can be moved onto pallets for labelling and final packaging. Lämneå Bruk AB www.lamnea.se 1.15") can be measured. Larger diameter products can be accommodated with a customised system. Metron is most commonly used in a vertical configuration (for long products), but is also available in a bench-top mode for shorter or rigid samples. In many manufacturing processes, quality control is an integral part of product inspection, providing traceability and compliance of an operation. Metron fulfils this requirement by providing an operator-independent test, making sample measurements more meaning- ful and more representative of the production. LaserLinc https://laserlinc.com

horizontal payoff. Multiple payoffs enable maximum up-time. To increase user friendliness and convenience, the spool handling is prepared for AGV trucks. The Fully Automatic Rewinding Line is suitable for different spool types up to 1,000kg. One of Lämneå Bruk’s best sellers, the Fully Automatic Precision Layer Winder combines speed with precise wire laying to a 100 th of a millimetre, user-friendliness and high safety standards. The spools are changed fully automatically with servo-drive motor-operated tooling for continuous production at top speeds of

The development of fully automatic wire machinery has been a major focus of Swedish manufacturer Lämneå Bruk AB in recent years. The company aims to be flexible and to set itself apart by providing customised machine solutions. According to president Jonas Hagstedt, there is probably not a single Lämneå Bruk machine that is like another – all concepts are individually designed according to the customer’s specific requirements. The Fully Automatic Rewinding Line is a versatile machine for the re-spooling of flat and round wire, with both vertical and
