Carris’s new custom-made ERP system will bring improved efficiencies in communication, workflow and collaboration with customers. The company states that this was a required enhancement to its supply chain management, given the diverse product line across its sites in three countries. The company has fresh ideas from its new CEO, Alberto Aguilar, and new sales director Mathieu St-Amour, who are envisioning what the marketplace will look like post-pandemic. Paramount has incorporated the scientific approach used in the development of the ParaLoc holders and its wire drawing dies into the development of large dies, shaped dies and shaving dies, providing improved productivity, higher quality and scrap avoidance through improved tooling design and production. This approach is carried through the design, production, inspection and application of Paramount dies to ensure performance. Paramount is expanding on its successes achieved since the founding of the company more than 50 years ago, to deliver the same value to large wire producers that it provides to fine wire drawers.

The company is also one of the largest suppliers of shaped dies to the global wire drawing industry, and makes other carbide tools used in the wire drawing process, such as shaving dies for high carbon valve spring wire, and stainless and non-ferrous applications.

Reels in a dynamic market As Carris Reels reaches its 70 th year of operation, the global market is still adapting to the impacts on the supply chain as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, while also experiencing one of the most dynamic wood and lumber markets in history, leveraging its experience and utilising long-standing relationships with lumber and plywood suppliers.

As well as being an eco-friendly solution, these reels offer customers an alternative to the cost of new wood reels in the current market. Carris Reels has integrated recycling facilities into 11 of its 15 locations, making it both a financial and logistical advantage to those it supplies. Its “2025 vision plan” is underway, and will include projects scheduled for completion in 2021/2022. The company’s Lone Star Reel nailed wood facility, located in Bonham, Texas, USA, will be completely overhauled, and has already welcomed the arrival of two new automated production lines.

Over its 70 years, Carris Reels has expanded across North America with 15 locations dedicated to creating wire and cable solutions. It has adapted new strategies, such as the expansion of recycled reels throughout more locations in its network.
