Used and new wire and cable machinery Mathiasen Machinery, Inc (MMI) buys and sells used wire and cable machinery – both ferrous and non-ferrous. Machinery is purchased for inventory or can be sold on an exclusive basis. MMI has interest in locating individual machines, complete lines or entire plants. New machinery, consignments, warehousing, appraisals and liquidation services are also offered. bull blocks, take-ups and coilers; draw, straighten and cut machines; spoolers; tube machines; fence machines; fastener machinery; continuous casting machines; and other types of wire and cable machinery, such as rolling mills and drum twisters.

Moveable arm take-ups and payoffs are shaftless in design, with pneumatic reel lift or dual-electric screw jack actuators on 2,100 to 3,000mm (84" to 120") units. Larger units use independent arm movement for reel arrangement, while single actuation capabilities are supplied on models 36" and smaller. Portal take-ups and payoffs are suitable for heavy loads and a wide reel range. They are built with a shaftless roll-through design that allows reel loading from the rear or front of the machine. The frame can be supplied in single, double or triple widths to support flange diameters of 1,066 to 3,600mm (42" to 144"), weighing up to 60,000 lb. Functions such as reel rotation, traversing, pintle movements and auto reel handling are activated and controlled from a hanging control panel. Davis-Standard supplies three main capstan designs to ensure line speed stability – belted caterpillar, belt-wrap and drum capstans. Davis-Standard, LLC https://davis-standard.com machines, steel bow stranding machines/ skip stranding machines, tubular strandingmachines, single twist bunching machines, double twist bunching machines, planetary stranding machines, drum twister machines, extrusion lines, rewinding lines, payoffs and take-ups. It can also supply extruders, cooling troughs, capstans and caterpillars, dancer and accumulator systems, and a wide range of binders. Mathiasen Machinery, Inc www.mathiasen-machinery.com

MMI is also the exclusive Americas (North, Central and South America) agent for Austria-based Wire and Cable Machinery GmbH, and Pratto SA. It can accommodate new machinery requirements, including SZ stranding

Used ferrous and non-ferrous production machinery includes rod, intermediate and fine wire drawing machines; bunchers, nail machinery, barbed wire, annealers, cablers, stranders, extruders,

Take-up, payoff and capstan technology Davis-Standard’s wire and cable systems include extruders, controls, take-ups and payoffs, dancers, accumulators and capstans engineered for consistency, quality and efficiency.

The company supports winding and unwinding of wire and cable for SZ stranding, secondary coating, sheathing and insulation.Machine selectiondepends on factors such as reel weight, flange diameter, cable diameter, automation features and line speed requirements. Reel handling equipment also includes dancers, cutters and optical traverse control, which can be incorporated into a reel-handling package. The dual-reel take-up design provides changeover reliability at speeds of 2,896m (9,500 ft) per minute or greater, and for reels up to 1,2740mm (50") in diameter and 5,000 lb in weight. Operation can be fully automatic with various reel-handling options, or semi-automatic, requiring tending only for loading and unloading of reels. These machines can work inde- pendently from line controls for easy adaptation and installation.

Flyer payoffs, for high-speed and uninter- rupted continuous wire unwinding with constant tension required for cable insulation, comprise two conical fly-off cones, two-reel lifting carts (displaceable over rails), one pair of fly-off flanges and one pair of reel shaft adapters. Floor traversing take-ups and payoffs offer space-saving, low-profile construction to support heavy loads andabroad reel range due to the capacity to extend production lengths. They can be equipped with low-, medium- and high-tension dancers, with mechanical or electrical braking and reel engagement, and various options for reel loading and unloading.

75 th Ace anniversary Ace Metal manufactures fine wire metal spools that are used in the ferrous, non-ferrous, tyre cord, fibre optic and aerospace industries, as well as for other applications.

where he learned all of the production phases. He then moved into the office to learn sales, purchasing and other duties, where his father taught him the rest of the business. The company’s spools range in size from6" to 14" flange diameter. They are designed with uniform quality and precision, and are also used in the batch annealing process.

The spools are made from prime cold- rolled steel and are available in multiple coloured finishes. The company’s tubular wire carriers, which are available in square-base, star-base, clover-leaf base and circular-base designs, are used to ship large diameter wire and rod as well internal wire carriers and payoffs.
