Gravimetric mixing stations and throughput measurement systems The use of gravimetric mixing systems can achieve cost savings and control. A good mixing station system that is optimally adapted to the requirements of the customer offers not only savings in the use of materials but also additional advantages. The transparency of the markets has led sales prices to become similar. However, manufacturers can optimise in the production area. In order for a company to survive in the long term, costs must be reduced while maintaining good quality in production. Woywod’s gravimetric throughput recording and mixing systems from the Plasticolor product range (“loss-in-weight” systems) offer claimed advantages that include less consumption of production time thanks to quick and easy cleaning of the entire system; saving of production time by installing a “flying” colour change in the system and switching the entire extrusion line from one colour to another without interrupting production; and avoidance of pre-mixed material at the end of production by installing a time-controlled filling of the neck piece. Control is easy and user-friendly, and no special personnel training is required. The production manager has direct access to all production processes of all lines through an internal network, while central material management reduces the need for large quantities to be held in stock.
