Payoff for fibre optic cable production
Maillefer’s new PM 265 high-speed motor-driven fibre payoff is designed for a wide variety of fibre optic secondary coating lines. The six-reel position frames can combine into several configurations to handle a total of up to 24 fibres. Fibre tension is accurately controlled with pneumatic dancers. By default, the reels are kept behind doors to improve operator safety. A quick set-up feature shortens set-up times by a claimed 70 per cent when splitting the fibre count. The payoffs operate on either the upper or the lower section at any one time. While one section is running, the other section is in preparation for the next run. The payoff is built on a compact frame layout for a reduced machine footprint, and accepts standard 50 km fibre reels. Maillefer Extrusion Oy www.maillefer.net
