Supporting sustainable production through innovation
provided from a central air supply or a dedicated compressor. The machines are designed with a compact footprint and are mounted on trolleys, so they can be wheeled to the work area. PWM designs and manufactures its products in-house. With design expertise, resources and facilities on site, existing products can be quickly adapted or upgraded as required, and new ones developed for specific applications. To ensure accuracy and reliability, all machines and dies are thoroughly tested throughout manufacture by the company’s engineers. PWM’s product portfolio includes manual and powered cold welders for a variety of applications, from fine wire to rod. Cold welding dies are individually hand made in matched sets by the company’s technicians. PWM Ltd www.pwmltd.co.uk
As demand for wire and cable products continues to increase, cold weld specialist PWM has developed solutions to meet manufacturers’ changing needs and to support sustainable production. Recent innovations include cold welders designed for welding non-ferrous materials that can present particular challenges, such as trapezoidal wire and thin strip. The TR45, launched at wire 2024, is a mobile machine specifically for welding trapezoidal wire up to 45mm 2 . The ST40, capable of bonding strip as thin as 0.25mm and as wide as 45mm (depending on material properties) has a welding head that can be positioned vertically or horizontally to suit a wide variety of applications and production set-ups. The TR45 and ST40 are both powered by air/hydraulic systems, making them energy efficient. Compressed air can be
