Emissions reduced by 20 per cent in two years Delta Tecnic, a masterbatch manu- facturer in the cable and PVC sector, significantly reduced its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in 2023. Compared to 2021 levels, total emissions decreased by 20.34 per cent. 1,210 to 377 tCO 2 eq, a decrease of 68.84 per cent • Scope 3: indirect emissions from used products, transport and waste management were reduced from 18,224 to 15,127 tCO 2 eq, achieving a reduction of 16.99 per cent to reducing and offsetting Scope 3 emissions. In 2021, it requested data on its climate action and carbon neutrality targets from its suppliers to align efforts towards a sustainable future. Its goal is for all Scope 3 emissions to be fully reduced or offset by 2050. In the interim, the company expects to have reduced these emissions by 42 per cent by 2030.

In 2021, the company’s total emissions amounted to 19,463 tonnes of CO 2 equivalent (tCO 2 eq). In 2023, this figure was reduced to 15,504 tCO 2 eq. The achievement was the result of efforts in the three scopes defined by the GHG Protocol: • Scope 1: direct emissions, which include emissions and removals, were reduced from 28.85 tCO 2 eq in 2021 to zero in 2023 – a 100 per cent reduction • Scope 2: indirect emissions from imported energy were reduced from

Delta Tecnic’s climate roadmap for 2021-2030 set a target of a 2.3 per cent reduction in total emissions by 2023 compared to 2021. This target was exceeded, with a total decrease of 20.34 per cent. The result is particularly significant in the reductions achieved in Scope 1 and 2, while Scope 3 emissions have also decreased, offsetting part of the reductions achieved.

“These results reflect Delta Tecnic’s commitment to sustainability and the fight against climate change,” said Eva Gotor, head of communications at Delta Tecnic. “We will continue to work closely with our suppliers and all stakeholders to achieve carbon neutrality and constantly improve our environmental practices.” Delta Tecnic SA www.deltatecnic.com
