ability to change orientations easily from vertical to horizontal. Sjogren’s straighteners are available in a variety of styles, including tilt rail straighteners suitable for short-length wire products such as nails or other fasteners; narrow line for strand galvani- sing or annealing, weaving, or mesh applications; customisable light-duty and heavy-duty straighteners; and three roll straighteners for applications that require only simple straightening or back tensioning. The company’s EC is a standardised straightener unit for vertical or horizontal wire straightening. The unit is best suited to being mounted to a machine, and no base plate is required. All Sjogren straighteners use the company’s unique grooved rolls, machined to exact specifications and featuring an align- ment marker that ensures the assembly maintains a precise wire centreline. Wire straightening, as part of the manu- facturing process, is a relatively simple procedure that involves bending the wire along grooved rolls. Sjogren Industries claims to have advanced the process through innovation and attention to detail. Some of these innovations include a dovetail design that creates less move- ment between parts, which ensures tighter tolerances (the typical rectangular plate design moves more and creates opportunity for misalignment); and a slide plate design that controls where the grooved rolls sit on the wire straightener. Sjogren’s range of straighteners offer either a quick-release lever with locking handle or a non-quick-release feature, depending upon the application. The quick-release mechanism is suitable for easy opening without affecting roll adjustments. The PB Series increases efficiency with a design that minimises space and set up time while using a common base plate for mounting. Its design offers the
