Web Industries promotes Kathrin Doyle Arena Web Industries Inc, a provider of contract converting and turnkey manufacturing services, has promoted Kathrin Doyle Arena to the position of vice president of human resources, with a focus on fostering the company’s employee-owner culture and helping to sustain and grow the business in the USA and globally.

Web Industries places emphasis on the development, satisfaction and retention of its workforce. CEO Mark Pihl said: “During Kathy’s six years at Web Industries, she and her team have made great strides in building a global HR infrastructure that can keep up with our growth. Emtelle has appointed Tommy Conner as managing director USA, to lead its new North American operation. Mr Conner joins the company – a manufacturer of blown fibre cable and ducted network solutions – as it prepares to open a new 300,000ft 2 facility in Fletcher, North Carolina. With more than 30 years’ experience in industrial distribution, engineering and manufacturing involving products including rubber, paper, plastic and now fibre, Mr Conner takes up his new post after five years at Mainetti, a retail solutions provider, where he was director of operations. During that time he was responsible for the company’s reuse and recycling operation sites across the USA, managing a reorganisation that saw it consolidate operations in a new factory in Fletcher, within which Emtelle is setting up its fibre production. Mr Conner previously worked for Braiform, a garment hanger designer and manufacturer, in a number of critical roles before becoming VP global operations, with responsibility for running the company’s operations in the USA, UK and China. Educated at Western Carolina University, he gained a Bachelor’s Degree in industrial engineering technology. He also served in the US Marine Corps, and maintains his links with the military by

of sales for North America earlier this year, and Scot Bohaychyk – solutions manager. Clay Harris and Lee Santoro are joining Emtelle as business development managers, for Midwest USA and Eastern Region USA, respectively. Mr Conner commented, “The US and Canada is ready to take the next step in the evolution of full-fibre products, with Emtelle bringing its innovative approach and high quality blown fibre cabling and duct solutions to the market. Mr Kawakami has served Mitsui Seiki for more than 40 years, having joined the parent company in 1981 after earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He advanced through the company in various sales and management positions at the US subsidiary, including vice president in 1994 and chairman in 2003. He moved back to the Japan headquarters in 2006 and has since held several senior executive roles at Mitsui Seiki Kogyo including, most recently, senior managing director. “It is my sincere honour to lead Mitsui Seiki during this exciting time in manufacturing,” said Mr Kawakami. “The technology is evolving quickly, and the industrial revolution surrounding
