PS Costruzioni Meccaniche Srl is celebrating its 60 th anniversary of providing packaging equipment to the wire and cable industry. Its core business is the designing and manufacturing of versatile coiling lines, automatic spooling lines and rewinding lines, and the more recent automatic Combo lines, capable of winding cables onto both coils and spools using a single line. The company has grown by developing innovative technical solutions and by improving its commercial options and post-sales assistance. By listening to customers’ needs, the company has designed a fast and reliable automatic line – Mod PS 250/12 – producing mainly small coils lengths (5, 10, 25 or 50m), but also capable of winding cables onto coils with a length of 100m, depending on the diameter of the cable.

This line can work with a Defilé unwinding system (flyer payoff) or a motorised payoff stand (Deroulé system), or with both systems. The final coils are intended for the “do-it-yourself” market, and are sold to department stores and shopping centres, where the quality of stratification and the final shape are essential features for success. For obtaining enhanced final presentation, the coils are tied up then conveyed to the oven unit, and wrapped using thermo-shrinking film in polypropylene (PP).
