For use in insulation and sheathing lines for cables, cores and conductors, Troester offers a wide range of machines that can, it is claimed, increase the efficiency and productivity of a line. These include the driven SAB pay-offs and SAF take-ups. This winder type is rated for a maximum line speed of 800m/min. The spools are raised and lowered by electrically driven lifting arms which are adjustable to the spool size, and in width. Easily replaceable pintles are employed to accept different spool sizes.

For easy handling, the lifting arms can be separately adjusted on each side. The winders are driven by motors, which allow rotation of the spool in both winding directions. The control is performed either by optional dance or accumulator. The laying of the cables is carried out by a traversing unit.

New to the range Cometo has introduced its production range new straightening and cutting machines. The MTF20 machine is suitable for the cutting and marking of tig welding rods. It processes aluminium, bronze, stainless steel and carbon steel with diameters 1.2, 1.6, 2, 2.4, 3.2, 4 and 5mm and allows the marking of both rod-ends at fixed lengths of 1,000mm or 914mm. The required cutting length is set by means of an external touch-screen, connected to an encoder, whilst maximum production capacity is 100 pcs/minute for 1,000mm cut length. The pressure of the feed rollers and encoder roller can be adjusted by means of pneumatic pressure devices. The feed rollers are coated with plastic material. The encoder roller is in hardened steel 63HRC. Guides and blades are in hardened steel 63HRC (carbide guides available upon request), while the quick wire straightening opening and closing system is by means of position indicators. into
