Approximately 150km of 300,000 V high-voltage underground cables 125mm in diameter had to be transported via heavy truck load due to their weight of 40 tons per reel. Thanks to the larger production facility – added in 2008 and the recently modernised and expanded machinery – the development and construction of the cable drums has been handled quickly. With 106 cable drums – 68 transport- and 38 production drums – Borkener Kistenfabrik has supported the Netherlands in handling the energy revolution.
