As this has caused wire drawers to be become somewhat more dependent on die suppliers, great pressure has been placed on Paramount Die to increase capacity for die nishing, to reduce nished die costs, and to improve lead times. Paramount Die has been able to reduce die costs by standardising on cost e ective carbide inserts and by increasing quality and capacity through automation.
The company is working to take the human factor out of the manufacturing process.
Many of the highly automated machines now run on “Lights Out Operation” meaning that they will continue to produce products as long as there is raw material being fed into the system. This not only improves production output, but also improves the quality (eliminating the human aspect).
